Coordinates medical staff activities including application processing, physician file maintenance, coordination of medical staff meetings, and medical staff bylaw development and maintenance. Ensures all credentialing and accreditation processes are complete and adhere to facility policy and state standards. Facilitates communication with the medical staff.
Licenses and Certification: Current National Certification as CPCS or CPMSM preferred.
Education, Vocational Training, and Experience: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Must have 3 years of credentialing experience in a hospital, managed care, or physician group setting
- Must have knowledge of Joint Commission or DMV credentialing standard
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with other members of the healthcare team to meet patient needs.
Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, employees, supervisor and other hospital employees.
Lifting objects in excess of ten (10) pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to five (5) pounds. Ability to stand on non-carpeted, composite surfaces for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl, reach, use fine finger movement, speak and hear. Ability to walk long distances on a regular basis.
