Performs a variety of specialized CT scans, imaging procedures and flouro procedures.  Adheres to patient safety protocols.  Operates imaging equipment, develops film, prepares rooms for exams, and maintains equipment, supplies, and medications.    

  • Under direction of the Radiologist, the CT Tech performs a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomy for the purpose of detecting pathology.
  • Performs procedures utilizing CT scan table, gantry, and computer console equipment.
  • Functions using independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity when performing technical procedures.
  • Manages and monitors equipment used to acquire cross sectional images.
  • Develops and organizes diagnostic quality cat scans prior to giving them to the radiologist for interpretation.
  • Requires the ability to work with all age groups of patients and physical conditions, to include pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality services, and to interact appropriately with patients and their representatives, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Will safely manage the environment of care while providing patient care and services.
  • Willing to be part of the call team.



Licenses and Certification:   State license, ARRT preferred, and current Basic Life Support required.

Education, Vocational Training, and Experience:  Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelor's degree preferred.



IV Proficient.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. 

Additional languages preferred.

Basic computer knowledge.

Ability to work with other members of the healthcare team to meet patient needs. 

Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, employees, supervisor and other hospital employees.



Lifting objects in excess of fifty (50) pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.  Ability to stand on non-carpeted, composite surfaces for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl, reach, use fine finger movement, speak and hear.  Ability to walk long distances on a regular basis.
